Okay. After some research and discussion with other members from the forum I've come up with the list below as an "approved" list for the SUPER LOW CHOLINE DIET. Obviously, some choices are better nutritional choices than others, so hopefully we'll eat more of the better nutritional choices. This is the list I will eat from. Thanks, Wendy AGREEABLE FOOD FOR SUPER-STRICT LOW CHOLINE DIET: rice milk (Rice Dream, orig.) (?? don't know amt.) Crispix cereal 4 Rice Krispies cereal 6 white rice 2 pasta 6.5 sweet potato (small amounts) 13 white potatos (but better nutrion choice is sweet potato) 14 chicken breast or thighs 60 green & other peppers 5 cucumbers 6 celery 6 carrots 9 zuchini 9.5 tomatoes 8 (contains sulphur but seems to b ok for TMAU) egg plant 9 Romain lettuce 10 pears Canned in heavy syrup 2 peaches canned in syrup 4 strawberries 6 blueberries 6 blackberries 9 gelatin (Jello) (sugar or sugar-free) .6 English muffins (infrequently) 16 Kellogg's Pop tart strawberry frosted 8, (16 for 2 pastries I imagine) egg whites (3 whites, 2 - 3 days only.) olive oil .3 herbal caffeine-free tea sea salt only for seasoning cinnamon black pepper

Please, the worst part of food high in chlorine is egg york. The transparent substance is ok. I am on diet control now for 2 weeks, living on pinnaples, banana, lemon juice, limms, mangoes and foods are stew, chicken wings and tigh, long grain paboiled white rice. corn flour, yams, cocoyams and plantains from chinese store. I eat food once a day only when I know I am not going out anymore for the day. because every food you eat have an inpact in feeding the odor baterials in you. And the odor will be active in one way or the other when this bacterials wakeup until they find nothing to eat again. My medication are 2 activated charcoal 280mgx2 and 1 doctor prescribed antibiotic 100mg morning-afternoon-evening. 1 raw probiotics each day. 1 kelp 600mg and zinc(copper incoperated) 30 mg twice a day. all tablet. I went to class on friday and suprise my class mates are just around me asking course questions and even getting into my career. all day was fun. I never feel that before since 8 yeasr ago. One important thing I discovered through my reseach is rely on less choline foods and even try minimise the quantity of food intake. and no alcohol at all. I eat once a day. the rest of the day is fruits becuase sometimes I feel some pains in my chest and tommy due to medication. All this medication I am taking have thier role in you. Antibiotics kills both good and bad germs. and the rest of the other medications are there to neutralizes your system, rebuild it, give more strenght to your heart, lungs, kidney. the mouth odor will even dissapear. sometimes, some medication in combination to some foods or product worsen the smell. I do not use deodorant. I might use perfume, but will work just for a while. your lotion is enough. If you have a problem with the ph stuff, I will ask you to go only for dettol. About meeting a doctor for help, don`t waste your time and money. only go for you test because TMAU has no cure according to the medical field but can be control by a few fraction of the careers.

Hi all, Thanx for all the wonderful tips. I have not been diagnosed with TMAU but I do believe I have it due to the symptoms. I cannot smell it but I depend on other people's reaction. I am a member of RareConnect.org. RareConnect.org is like a facebook page for TMAU victims. One member from RareConnect.org stated that she tales two 150 mcp of kelp and one 50 mg of zinc, and 1 tsp of organic coconut oil a day along with Probiotics. She said that this works. I can't remember her name, though. I'm waiting til I get paid in May to purchase the Zinc and Kelp regimen. I notice these posts were written since 2012. How are you guys doing now with your odor. Let me know.

I just discovered that I have TMAU. The body smell started 17 years ago. I thought the problem was because my acid reflux and digestion problems. I have seen a lot of physicians about the smell but they were all clueless. In fact, I never smelled myself; the only sign that I had about the fishy smell was always the reactions of some mean colleagues and other people. My job unfortunately requires me to interact with a lot of people. I have at least one meeting per day and it is always frustrating to see people trying to sit away from me. I even had some colleagues making allegations about me not taking showers. I try very hard to be strong during the day but once at home I cry. My colleagues are highly educated people but in my opinion completely they are completely ignorant. I run on an article about TMAU a few weeks and requested to be tested but I am still waiting for the appointment. It has been 4 weeks I am on a low choline diet with vitamin B2, zinc, and Chrolophillin. I eat a lot of fruit, vegetables and greens. I eat only chicken a maximum of 85g (choline: 55mg). I use the database foodhealth.info/tmau-low-choline-diet/ to monitor my choline intake as well as carbs and protein. The choline intake according to some research articles should be about 100mg per day for people suffering from TMAU. In addition to exercising I use infrared sauna 2 to 3 times a week. It helps me sweat and release the toxins and the choline in the cells. I lost 10 pounds in 4 weeks and I have more energy than before. Another good thing is that I don’t have acid reflux anymore. The smell is probably less than before but I need more than 2 months to get rid of the fishy smell. A problem I have with this diet is the quantity of fiber. For women it should be a minimum of 28g per day. Because I stopped eating whole wheat bread and other high fiber food, I have now more constipation problems. I wondering what some of you are doing to get enough fiber besides probiotics.

Adrianmmc, The choline list I have says a chicken thigh has 37.3 mg and a drumstick has 33.2. I don't think a thigh is near as big as a breast though, so they are probably comparable.

Hey Wendy, I'll join you in your no cheating low-choline diet! I saw her post as well and thought about what she wrote. I haven't been tested for TMAU yet, but I have pretty much all the symptoms. I also noticed when I stopped using my antipersperant the "aura" of odor disappeared and it was just an occasional malodor. So, I'm thinking some of my odor was from toxic overload as antipersperants are loaded with Alum. Chloride, which is TOXIC. I think she said she had chemical sensitivities? I also work in a factory and when I moved out of state a year and a half ago my odor mysteriously disappeared. I'm wondering if I have the same problem she did? Anyway, I took a long weekend so I'm with ya! Michelle

I have been suffering from TMAU since the first time I had my menstruation when I was 9 years old. I do not have bad breath but the pores all over my body breaths a very foul odor like strong sulfur or iron smell, sometimes like a burning rubber or a rotting fish that makes me soo sick of my own smell my headache won't go away for months. My condition is always at it's peak before, during, and after my monthly menstruation. I found that fasting really helps, in general. Like if I have a very important event, I fast. But on normal days, I eat rice and pure vegan vegetable viand. Except for any plant on the cruceferus family. I don't eat eggs, meat, dairy, and fish in any form at all. One advantage I guess is my love for vegetables. Even before, prior to my TMAU, I always prefer vegetables and rice combo over any other type of food. Maybe because I am asian. But because of that, my TMAU is highly controllable. By the way, I take 1 zinc tablet a day and it helps a lot as well.

I too have the same problem but I have discovered like all others diseases the remedy is not only in diet and medication. All diseases have an emotional cause or like the modern society put it it's caused by stress and they give pills that makes you worse. The human body can cure by itself if you stop getting in the way.I also suggest trying alternative terapies like energy healing, acupuncture, crystal therapy and others. The main cause from my own experience it was a personal boundary issue and the root of that is fear. It's fear we wont be loved, that we aren't good enough or deserving enough just as we are. So what I recommend is to study more about this do your own research and don't give up!I suggest also to watch on YouTube The root Cause of Your illness and ailment by Teal Swan! Blessings xoxo

hello everyone, I have had this condition seems like forever. needless to say I have been humiliated in front of people. I have made up my mind a long time ago that this condition will not dictate who I am. It so soooooooo wonderful to know that I am not alone in this difficult journey. I hope I do not come across as superficial by saying that. Just mean it is so good to know that I am not alone. Can be a very lonely journey. I have the body and breath odor. I plan to follow the diet plan I have just read. Not going to be easy, but I have to at least try. Heres to a Fishy free life. I wish you all the same.

Hello, I'm pretty sure I have tmau. Everyone around me coughs and sneezes, rubs their noses and makes faces. Any recommendations out there? I scanned the internet for tmau diets and they vary. I have a neti pot and avoid milk products, beef, dark greens, soy lecithin and processed foods. I even take activated charcoal. I've had little success... Thanks
