Kim, I've been making spaghetti as well but I use regular spaghetti(hope that's ok) and add olive oil, yellow squash and salt. Boring but if it works. What brand of egg noodles do you use? Is No Yolks egg noodles ok? Shania I just made spaghetti from a ground chicken thigh and organic spaghetti. I used a 1/2 can organic diced tomatoes and added organic all purpose seasoning (as there is a lot of italian spices in it) and sea salt. I also added some grated parmesan cheese on top. Very filling. You may want to try it to fill you up, as pasta is a good filler and I don't have problems with the organic pasta. Just egg noodle pastas. I also always have problems with processed foods such as things that come in a box. I do a lot better if I make things from scratch and I try to use organic when possible. Hi, I use "Private Selection" organic spaghetti. It doesn't have eggs in it. I don't use egg noodles. I only use any pasta that is organic and is the Private Selection brand. I have not had much luck with egg noodles and I haven't tried the "No Yolk" brand. I haven't found any wide noodles or egg noodles that are under the Private Selection label as yet. I really do best with organic foods. So I probably won't try the No Yolk pasta.
BTW I used to eat a lot of corn such as organic corn tortillas and mexican food but I think I am doing a lot better without corn. I'm glad I saw corn on your NO list. Also the Organic Braggs ACV is really helpful. I make my salad every night using the ACV in the dressing and I think it is really breaking down the food better. I read the article about low stomach acid above and so maybe that is why the ACV is helping.

bethemiracle Thank you for your reply! But 2 grams of rice - this is very small ... or I do not understand correctly? Quarter of the chicken - too ... I have previously relied on your post number 26, which stated that 100 grams of rice = 2 grams of choline. or am I wrong?

Sit, You're right, I made a HUGE mistake in that last post. uuuggghhhh! I totally screwed up my metric system!!! I wish I could erase it! This will probably just make it more confusing but I just kind of feel I want to explain my mistake!!! : The USDA lists things as mg choline moiety / 100 g of foodSo I usually think in terms of "per 100 grams of food." And when I was saying 1/4 and 1/2, etc., I was thinking 1/4, 1/2 of a serving of 100 grams. So when I said 2 grams of potatoes, I was thinking of two servings (100 grams of potatoes per serving, doubled, (cuz I have a large appetite!) for 200 grams of potatoes, not 2. And when I said 1/4 of a gram of chicken, I meant one quarter of a USDA serving (100 g), or 25 g of chicken. The 1/2 g of chicken gravey, again, one half serving of 100 g, so 50 grams of chicken gravey, then cut with water to make it go farther. The below should have read like this, I think: 70 mg of choline per 100 grams of chicken, which 100 grams of chicken ends up being about 1/2 a chicken breast. That obviously could vary. I just use my scale now. So I THINK it should have read like this: THE OTHER DAY FOR DINNER I HAD: 25 g chicken (really only a few bites) = 18 mg choline 200 g mashed potatos from box, made with rice milk and butter (100g-11 mg choline) I had two servings, or 200 g, so doulbe the choline = 22 mg choline 50 g chicken gravy in a jar. ( I diluted it with water to make it go further) Note there also was soy lecithin in it and possibly soy oil, but I figured it was a very small amount = 3.5 mg choline TOTAL CHOLINE FOR MEAL: 43.5 mg uuuuggghhh! I'm so sorry. That was so confusing. But I think the choline count was correct, with those corrections. I think the info in the #26 post was correct, though. I'll go back and doube check. Please feel free to correct any future mathematical miscalculation! It's correct that I'm not used to the metric system! Wendy

OK, I have to admit on Friday I went off the wagon and ate two cannolis. Boy what a mistake. There is a lot of dairy in them and of course I smelled like rubber for 36 hours or so. So NEVER AGAIN! I am only sticking to the low choline diet as that is what works for me and I do well with it. I even couldn't sleep well! Silly me. I guess I am learning! I also have had to stop all the supplements except my sublingual liquid B vitamins (has B-2) and my probiotics. Anything else makes me stink. I also at one point tried the probiotic pearls and they made me smell like rubber so I only do the good ones that my Alternative MD gives me. The Klaire Lab Complete and Factor 4. They are worth the cost and help me tremendously.
This is a kind of tough diet to stick to as there is so much temptation especially when you are not at home and are hungry. I think I am going to always make sure I have a couple of pieces of sourdough bread with me so I won't do anything foolish like last week.
I hope everyone else is doing good on the diet. It's not worth a few bites of pleasure for the hours of suffering!

Thanks for sharing, Kim. Sorry you had a bad reaction! I have to admit, I can't seem to make it a week without cheating. Although what I am trying to do is allow myself a wider variety of foods but stay low with choline. I do better if I'm not eating the SAME things over and over!!! Also I have to admit since I'm trying really hard, but still with some mistakes, I am cheating less than I was before. So maybe it's too hard to go cold turkey straight into a 100 g choline diet with NO cheats and maybe it's more of a process. Intersting that the Pearls caused an odor. I wonder what's in them? ? I also ordered the probiotics you mentioned. I ordered it in the powder because I thought I'd swish it in my mouth and see if it does anything there, but I think I have to order the pills so I can just take them easier. Thanks for all the comments. I"m getting something out of everything that everyone contributes here. Wendy

Yes Wendy. I definitely get a lot out of all these posts. I think maybe what I am doing wrong is not making much of a variety so it is getting easy to go to temptation, just like you mentioned. I need to use a little more imagination. Anything great you are eating that is worth sharing.... anyone...... that is low choline?
I think my favorite is Lemon Meringue Pie.
I think of it as a kind of bonus as it has egg whites which have protein as well as low choline and it is not so sweet that it bothers me.

Wendy and Kim
Thank you for your posts. They are a big help. I have been having a hard time sticking with the diet. But, I can say I cheat less often, and for a shorter amount of time.....it's a start I guess.
But, I will stick with it. Drinking 80-120 oz of water each day helps.
But, evenings are still the hardest part for me. I stay busy during the day, but do a lot of emotional eating and mindless eating at night.
Everyone keep any tips or suggestions coming, they are appreciated.
EDI:)

Yes Edi this is not an easy diet but I see the results and will live this way from now on. I wanted to let everyone know that I saw my Alternative MD recently and she made a follow up call last week. I told her that I was doing well on the low choline diet and the probiotics and she said that the only other thing I needed was a natural bacteriocide so that I wouldn't have to occasionally take the antibiotics. I told her that every night I was either drinking (1 tablespoon) or adding to my salad dressing the Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (Bragg brand) and she said that is great as the bacteriocide.
So I think I am on the right track and as long as I can stay away from the denial approach that just a little won't hurt or that maybe....maybe I can tolerate the no no foods (like Cannolis), which is NOT TRUE! Then I can live a happier life!
Thanks for everyone's input! There is definitely a great number of nice, warm and friendly people here that want to reach out and help others.

Kim Thank you for the info on the OACV. It's been mentioned many times on the site. But, I don't remember reading that it's a bacteriocide ( I could have just missed it). That's good to know. I will give it a try. Some people says it causes an odor. I hope that will not be the case with me. I too need to stay away from the "denial approach", it hurts my progress more than anything. Edi

Yeah, I'm a little hesitant too with the ACV. I'm glad it's working for you. It's great that you can detect your odor and give us feedback.
I'm a little confused bc I've heard some bad things about vinegar but maybe it's the difference between white vinegar and apple cider vinegar. I'm going to put out a new post under "apple cider vinegar" and see what responses we get. It's interesting news to me too that it's a bacteriocide.
Just one thought. Should we be making sure that we space the ACV apart from the probiotics, maybe take the ACV at a different time than the probiotics. Just wondering if the ACV could "kill" the probiotics, like the antibiotics do. Yeah, I am going to do anything I can to not have to take the antibiotics.

Yes, I space out the probiotics from the ACV just in case. I take the probiotics relatively on an empty stomach - when I am fixing dinner. It for some reason takes me about 45 minutes to complete my dinner preparation (it takes a while to ground that organic chicken!) and then at dinner I eat the ACV. I have tried regular white vinegar and I have a strong odor. The ACV doesn't seem to bother me. Kim

I went off the diet,I think I was trying too hard, eating the same thing every day. Can someone tell me what you're eating? I think I'll go nuts if I have to eat the same thing every day.
