I'm really face a very bad day today. I'm tired of all this jeered and laughed that i received every day and I'm sick of this. Right now I'm in college. Ya dude you know how nightmare its going to be going to the class with this smell. But I can say that my life in college is alot more better than highschool.
Usually I will run from this problem. When I start to feel sad or start to think about my own future or just being tormented I will start to do something else like playing video game or others thing that make me forget about it. Before this I quite active opening this website reading the forum and doing my own research but then I stopped. I like giving up trying all this method to cure body odor but then nothings has worked. But now I started to realize that I cannot run anymore. I have to face this odor fight it. So guys I really hope that you guys can give any opinion on what causes this body odor
I started to have this stupid odor when I was 15 years old but it did not too worse and I still can fight it with frequent shower. But then when I was 16 years old the nightmare begin. My body odor comes all the time and it was so strong but i can't smell it. Based on people comment they just said that it was a very weird strong smell that did not smell like normal bo. I was a guy and right now im 20 years old.
For my diet I eat mostly asian type of food like rice, chiken and leafy vegetable. I avoid food with high of choline cause Ithink i ve got TMAU but never get tested of it. I did not think that diet is my main cause of body odor cause I have quite healthy diet and I quite sure this odor have something to do with inside my body. But here is something weird about my body
Well Iwas very thin, I mean that I did not weigh like a normal 20 years old guy. But in my suprise I eat a lot. I will start to feel hungry easily then I can eat more than people who weight more than me. I do have flactulence, some bloating but did not too much, sometime constipation and unexplainable diarrhea. I think it is SIBO or IBS but I did not have abdominal pain. If we have SIBO or IBS do we will have all the symptom or only afew of it.
I really need you guys opinion. I already went to two doctors and both think that I have some mental problem but i did not blame them. In my suprise I did not smell when I met this two doctor. Both of them claimed that. Well sometime the odour just gone away for a little while and I still did not know why. And please don't say that it was just in my mind cause I quite pretty sure of it.

Hey anoymous. I am going through the same problem as you. My odor is fecal and neither me nor my family can smell it. But, after 4+ years of indirect comments I am pretty sure that I emmit an odor. Currently, I am trying to fight with this monster inside me. Here is what I have found might be causing my odor. Pehaps, one of them is causing your odor too. 1. Candida overgrowth. When candida starts growing in your large intestine it creates an imbalance of bacterial flora. Candida is actually a fungus, and when it overgrows it can wreak havoc in your body. What it does is produce toxic waste by eating sugar, carbs, yeast, mold, etc. Thus, a diet eliminating foods high in sugar, yeast, carbs, and molds, can help kill it. As well as antifungals and intestinal cleansing. 2. Leaky gut syndrom. Our colon can become too sensitive to some foods and, as a result, becomes irritated. When irritation occurs, the colon, or large intestine, becomes more permeable. High permeability makes colon absorb fecal material into the blood. Then the fecal material comes out through the skin pores, sweat, breath, and the urine. Candida overgrowth might also cause LGS. I believe that the toxins that candida produces irritate the walls of our intestines and they become leaky. This is basically what I think I have. My plan is to do colon cleansing, add antifungals and probiotics, and follow a strict anti candida diet for a few months. Also, if it will turn out that my plan will not work then I will stop thinking that I have Candida, and start developing plans for my next theories, which are SIBO, and Ileocecal Valve Syndrome. Here's what they are: 1. SIBO, or Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth. Sibo happens when too much bacteria, found in the large intestine, grows inside the small intestine. Normaly, our small intestine is responsible for controlling their numbers by pushing them out with muscular contractions. However, when the muscular contractions are too weak the bacterias stay in the small intestine. These bacteria eat sugar, carbs, etc. and convert it into smelly gas. Just because the small intestine normally has a larger permeability then the colon, it absorbs these gases into the bloodstream. As a result, a fecal smell will be present in the breath, and possibly body. 2. Ileaocecal Valve Syndrome, a valve that lets food enter the colon from the small intestine. If the Ileocecal valve is inflamed it is either open, or closed, for most of the time. When its open, a person might have diarhea, and sometimes the feces can backup into the small intestin. When it is closed, the person has constipation and the food just rots inside the intestines. And this is all I know so far on the causes of the fecal body odor. If you want more info go to this website:http://www.bodyodor777.com/ It gives a cause and a briefe explanation. If you want an in depth explanation of the cause, just google it. I found a lot of info about SIBO on www.webmd.com/. Good luck with your quest! May God be with you.

Ugh sometimes it sucks to hear how peoples stories are exactly the same as yours, because you can kind of see how this is all going to pan out in the future from reading posts by people who have had the odour for like 30 years.
I also got it when I was 15. I was reading old diary entries and it popped up at that age. Its so strange because I have read stories from a lot of people who said they got it when they were 15. I thought people would get it during puberty, but I had that earlier and was fine. It's so weird.
I really feel you on the college thing. Im 21. Its a living hell. I truely would be happy just to drop out, buy a house, get some more animals and live like a hermit and eat what I want without people bothering me. If I got the money I would.
The smell is definitely not in your head, don't listen to those doctors. If people have made comments towards you about a smell then you have it. My family also can't smell me. So sometimes I get in denial and believe I do not smell. Then some kid will say something horrible indirectly towards me and I crash back into reality.
I really don't know what we could have. I do not believe in leaky gut syndrome. You would be so sick if you had fecal matter going back up into your blood stream or wherever the hell they say it goes.
I think it could be candida, but is probably something a bit different that has no name right now. I feel like meat is a huge no no if you want to get rid of the odour, but candida diets say to eat meat. So It must just be some disorder no one can pinpoint down to the specific problem.
Your diet already sounds good. So its so bloody hard to say what you should do. See, I would say to go on a juice fast for a week. But if you had candida then sugar is a nono. So I would say vegetable fast. But if you have tmau, that is another nono. But anyway. I would say just go on some kind of detox for a week or two. Then start to follow a strict diet. I would try to eliminate meat, gluten, too much sugar, too many carbs, dairy. Start exercising to sweat out the toxins. Take probiotics in the morning, anti funguls at night (Grapefruit seed pills, grape seed pills). B12, zinc, magnesium citrate. - these are good odour fighters. You could add in milk thistle to help your liver out as well.
The whole thing is sticking to this method though. You tell yourself it will be easy, but its so hard when your depressed and tired from school and work. But you can do it, if you have strong will power.
GOOD LUCK!

I also did candida diet twice in my life, cause they recomended it to me. It didn't help one bit for my bad BO. It actualy worsened my smell terribly cause in candida diet you can eat eggs(!), some meat and things that 'feed' the TMAU disease. So I only wasted some 1000€ and lost 10 kg on that diet. Well I could scratch out candida as a culprit for my smell, that was one thing.

If you combine the Candida diet and TMAU diet, you will find some relief. Basically only eat what is allowed on BOTH DIETS. While EGGS are okay on the Candida diet, they are NOT ok on the TMAU diet. So they wouldn't be good for you to eat, period. DO NOT EAT EGGS.
You have to take ANTIFUNGALS and PROBIOTICS and EAT ORGANIC for this to help. I am not saying it will eliminate the smell overnight. You need at least 6 months on this diet and need to heal your stomach lining in the process.
THE DON'Ts Don't eat any grass fed beef or anything grass fed, it makes the TMAU/bo worse worse no dairy because it has sugar avoid high choline foods and foods that smell bad (cabbage smells bad, DONT EAT IT) only eat organic lower choline foods (Kale is one of these foods)
Side Notes: what I did was I only ate all organic foods like; MEAT, seaweed, drank carbonated water and flavored water (no sugar allowed here either), ate marinated meats fried in grapeseed oil, romaine lettice, almonds and almond milk, cacao powder.
meat is not really allowed on the TMAU diet, but if you take the antibiotic you are supposed to take for TMAU and have at least one bowel movement a day (2 is best) you can have meat.
you will HAVE TO get creative with marinating your meat so that you can enjoy your meals or else you will not only have terrible sugar cravings but also be bored with meals.
ALMONDS and ALMOND MILK are okay for candida. not sure about TMAU
My Daily regimen (ALL ORGANIC): my breakfast was usually TEA or cacao powder mixed in hot almond milk.
snack was Salted sea weed (this causes a stinky fish smell in your mouth, so be sure to brush your teeth well and have the antibiotic for TMAU ready to take)
Lunch romaine letuce salad with marinated chicken (YUM!)
dinner was STEAK
surprizingly, I was always craving sugar :-( it was terrible :'-( So be aware that this diet is NOT for the faint or weak I never used antifungals, antibiotics, or probiotics during the diet which made it very hard to follow. I DID USE something called spirulina or something like that but it made me smell WORSEEEEEE I dont think it works
I DID TAKE ANTIFUNGALS with a CANDIDA ONLY diet 3 years ago and THE COUGHING AND SNEEZING THE ALLERGIC REACTIONS AND COMMENTS from other people ALL STOPPED. I don't know if I smelled or not after the diet/antifugals combo, but it looked like I didn't. Still, the sugar cravings where too strong and I messed up and ate a sweet bread thinking the antifungals would still work. I was wrong :-( Now I am immune to Fluconazole fluconazole is VERY GOOD at ELIMINATING CANDIDA the other drug thats good for candida with a candida diet is NISTATIN but I have no idea where to get it
