In my intro post, I gave the background of my issue (leaky gut, anemia, fungus, yeast, bacteria overgrowth, acidic tissues).
From reading this site and others online, I 'm really starting to see that each person's needs are different. The body is such a wonderful, complicated thing, that one person can have several maladies happening at once.
I'll just state was has helped me. I believe that the organs that detoxify my body are overworked from an overload of environmental and other toxins. I experienced some level of metal poisoning which caused or contributed to leaky gut. I thought it was was weird that I would eat something like chicken, yogurt or fish and smell like it. But I didn't know about LG until I saw a naturopathic doctor. LG is when your stomach (and or intestines) has small holes that allow undigested food into your blood system. Bacteria and yeast populate and cause a lot of problems. This is an over-simplification because I'm not a medical doctor.
I was also very low on vitamin D and the B's. I believe I experienced some level of adrenal fatigue too. My zinc and magnesium levels were down. My theory on why my nutrient levels were low is that the synthetic hormones I was taking was robbing my body of them. I eat quality, organic food 90% of the time so I don't think it was my diet.
Anyway, for about three months, I have been taking Ashwangangha for my adrenals - this stopped COLD some of the nastiest smells... the dragon ones that smelled like metal or hell. I mean COLD. I also felt much more peaceful after taking this Indian herb. Gaiai makes a good one. I've been taking it since May. I stopped sweating as much too. I ran out once and had to wait a week to get more. During that time, I started to regress, became more jittery and sweated more.
I started taking a bunch of vitamins: B-12 sublingual dibencozide, Vit. C 1000 mg, B-6 & a great multi-vitamin from New Chapter with herbs for women. Again, when I ran out of the B-12 for a long while, and also when I ran out of the multi for about a week, I noticed a change. I know it seems crazy but taking these vitamins has really improved my health.
I also take fish oil, and drink 1/4 cup of aloe daily, both to help the leaky gut. The aloe is a very good quality one - "whole filet" & without preservatives.
I take golden flax seeds (you should grind them yourself) for fiber and fatty oils. I just started taking Olive Leaf because it can kill 50 or 500 strains of bacteria. Supposedly it can help with AIDS too (I don't have AIDS). I know from experience that Olive Leaf is great. I gave it to my daughter to help with a VIRUS once and it worked. Even medical science can't cure viruses.
My ace in the hole is Triphala. It's an Indian herb that draws toxins and wastes from your body in a gentle manner while nourishing your body at the same time. So some people take charcoal and other agents but Triphala adds something while it takes away.
The Triphala and flax are crucial to me because my digestive system is very slow.
I went to see an Ayurvedic doctor (an actual physician licensed in India) who is a friend. She told me I was anemic and acidic. I had my blood tested by my regular doctor and anemia didn't come up. However, I know there's a different kind that responds to B-12.
I've been following an alkaline diet for almost a month now. It's very boring and I hate it. However, I'm sweating much less. There's tons of info online about the alkaline diet.
I believe, as someone posted here, that there is no disease that the body cannot cure, given the right stimulation. So I really try to tap into my intuition to tell me what is best.
To that end, about a week ago, I got a "feeling" that I need to be eating a head of lettuce a day. At first it didn't make sense because lettuce is not very nutritious - - compared to other veggies. Then I remembered that eating a head of lettuce is supposed to help with food poisoning, aka, bacteria! So I've been eating a head of Boston lettuce daily. No dressing, nothing on it at all. I only eat the lettuce and nothing else.
What I discovered is that it cuts downs on my sweating a lot. To put this in perspective, at once point, I was sweating once an hour - - hot flashes that everyone wanted to attribute to menopause. WRONG! Why would I get them when I ate something. That's clearly not menopause.
I now know that my body was responding to bacteria (at the least) that was activated especially when eating. I thought the lettuce helped with that but I found out today that the lettuce helps because of the chlorophyl and water content. Chlorophyl is alkalizing!
So that's where I am. Still suffering from sweating but it's only a few times a day, as opposed to every hour. No more horrid smells that come out of me. I still have a heat intolerance and I feel like my body temp is warmer than others.
Today I plopped down $100 to have my blood cells analyzed by a nutritional microbiologist. Before I went, I read the reviews, both pro and con.
He showed me pictures of my cells. Some had fungus, yeast and bacteria in them. He told me I am dehydrated somewhat too. But how I know it's real is that he DIDN"T tell me that I had heavy metals. In fact, he showed me that heavy metals are NOT a problem for me.
Now, anyone who knows about "sick office syndrome" would assume that heavy metals would be the culprit. So if this were fake, he would have told me that. But the reason I didn't show heavy metals is that I've been doing a foot soak that was recommended by the naturopath, who did detect heavy metals. So, for a month, I've been using broad leaf plantain weed as a foot soak.
I HIGHLY recommend this for everyone because metals are everywhere, in antiperspirants, metal fillings, pesticides, everywhere.
The first time I did the foot soak, I felt a tingling all over my body. Each successive time, I felt very little. So whatever it drew out, is gone, as verified by the cell analysis.
He also told me that I am very acidic, as did the Ayurvedic doctor. He recommended a couple of things that I had already planned to get, based on my extensive research.
He recommended Bentonite clay. I've heard raves about this. I've also heard that it contains aluminum. I think it depends or maybe it's a natural part of the clay and not harmful. Anyway, I'm taking the risk and starting tomorrow.
He also recommended drops to alkalize my water, a green powder supplement made from grasses and a magnesium oxygen supplement to cleanse out my digestive system. These are all things I was going to get anyway.
So I start this new regimen tomorrow. My expectation is that I will be fully healed. I feel like I have about 25% more healing to do. The theory is that I am sweating because my body is trying to eliminate toxins, which is what I suspected. A more alkaline system will help my body rid itself of toxins. The LG will be healed once the wastes in my gut are gone. I'll be able to get more nutrients from my food so the tendency to be anemic will be gone too.
I will report back. Feel free to email me if you want the name of any products or the microbiologist.
