I do hate writing negative reports but, after a period of time of taking mega-doses of B2, I have to admit that I have not reduced my TMAU odour. I am now taking Multibionta as well but, as yet, have not had a positive effect. However, I have had to include some protein foods in my diet (namely mozzarella and lentils) as I have become slightly anaemic and lethargic and I hold this stupidly restrictive diet responsible. I will see what happens when I return to my very strict diet; perhaps the B2 and Multibionta will be more effective then... I am also going to try the VSL3 as they appear to be the best quality probiotics. By the way, UK people, I think we should push to have some of these supplements on prescription. Next time I see Dr Lachmann I will request this.

When I was first diagnosed I was given a prescription for B2. Because the paper that mentions its use recommends it at 10mg quantities, that was what I was given. B2 at that amount is available for children on prescription, and I dont know if that is why such small amounts were used in the paper? It had to be ordered in specially and it was quite a big deal as everyone involved told me! However, since then it has been reported that adults only seem to get a benefit with larger amounts B2, and when I made a request for another prescription of B2 the nurse that deals with repeat prescriptions was very hostile, said there was no record of me having been prescribed it previously and basically said no you cant have it. I don’t know if this was aggravated by the fact that Scotland has recently introduced free prescriptions so they are getting sick of people asking for everything under the sun rather than just going to chemist and paying? They say our NHS is the envy of the world, I dont think so...... Because the tablets contained things like sugar and colourings, and I was having to take so many of them to get 400mg over the day, I decided to just buy my own, with as few of these extra additives as possible, which usually cost about £6 for 100x100mg, so 25 day supply. It would be worth getting Dr Lachmann to investigate the NHS prescription route because I think the other specialists will follow what he recommends. I think they can only prescribe very specific items that can be accessed through the NHS stockists, if you know what I mean. They cant sign a prescription for amazon! I wouldn’t get very far asking my specialist for a prescription because he wasn’t sold on the B2 idea. He said the feedback he was getting was that B2 didnt do anything, but then if his patients cant smell their odour....... PS malory, check the ingredients for multibiotina (?) multi vit mineral tabs because I found things on that i didn’t want to take (sorry cant remember, looked up so many!) but I know one of the things I was trying to avoid was iron especially in large doses, because that is a classic stinker for people generally. Dont want to put you off taking multis, just a little pointer if you’re still getting odour and looking for source

Hey wonder999 (and anyone else looking for affordable B2) I ordered my B2 from iherb.com for under $5 USD which is under 3GBP. I order from Australia, and it only costs $2 USD for the shipping. In Australia the prices for supplements are OUTRAGEOUS, so this had been a lifesaving find for me. I can say that their service is good most of the time. I did have to wait one month for one of my orders, but that's out of about 8-10 times I've ordered from them. It takes about 10 days for orders to get down here. I hate to give a bad report, too, but I have to say it didn't do anything for my odor except make my urine smell like B2. BUT I know it works for many, so I think people should give it a try. Anyone can use my code for $5 off their first order. It's ZEN650. I think you might be able to get your first B2 for free that way. I'm not 100% sure, though. But ANY supplement you want to try, they have the BEST PRICES, and anyone can use my code for anything the first order. I've ordered lots of stuff that didn't end up working or I had an allergic reaction(like chlorophyll and chlorella), but it was not such a financial drain had I bought it from the chemists and health stores in Australia. This link is already set up with the discount if anyone is interested: www.iherb.com/Nature-s-Way-Vitamin-B2-100-mg-100-Capsules/1825?at=0&rcode=ZEN650

Thanks for the info about iron and Multibionta. I am very dubious about the inulin in Multibionta but I'm still taking it at the moment anyway. The problem is: If we can't take iron and can't get it from our food then how do we combat anaemia? The unknown long-term effects of these restrictive diets is one good reason for pushing for further research. We should not be forced to choose between 2 evils: at the moment it's either poor health or social exclusion due to our smell.

I have been using riboflavin since 1 month ago (100mg/day) after meal. I noticed that people are less allergic to me. I was used to people coughing and sneezing around me when I am at work. Now I noticed that this has been reduced a lot. There was an employee who was allergic to my smell. I was used to hear him sneezing all the time. Now he sneezes 1 or 2 times a day. So now I am sure that the allergy I noticed in my colleagues at work was because of me. But I am happy with B2 (riboflavin)results. I read that it enhances remaining FMO3 activity. Hope if I continued taking it, my odor will be reduced more.
