bad breath germs contagious
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum, but I recognize a lot of usernames from another bad breath forum that I've posted on for a while.
I am here to see if I could find somebody else who shares a very difficult problem that I have -that is having bad breath germs that are absolutely contagious.
Having halitosis is bad enough - you can imagine how isolating it is to have that be contagious as well.
I have yet to meet a single person who has said that they're in the same boat. And it makes me wonder if I"m supposed to treat my condition completely differently from other bad breath sufferers due to this reason. So I'm really really hoping to meet someone with the same condition. If private messaging is allowed on this board, I welcome them, too.
Other than that, any response/feedback is welcome, of course. Thanks for reading.

Re: bad breath germs contagious
I don't think bad breath in itself is actually contagious. Having some sort of "infection" (examples; bacterial or viral) in your mouth or throat that is contagious, could be transmitted to another person thereby causing bad breath. A perfect example for this scenario is Strep throat (streptococcus throat infection). Strep not only smells very unpleasant, it's highly contagious as well. Also, think about the countless couples who have kissed one another, while having morning breath. As far I know of, there hasn't been any documented cases of bad breath being actually contagious; then again I'm not a physician or a leading expert.
