Hi All! It's been a while since I've seen of talked to any of you. I'm trying to keep my interactions current again. I have hyperhydrosis and bromhidrosis. I try to maintain them with diet and mild soaps/deodorizing products. sometimes to little avail. I started wearing underarm pads which protect clothes. That's working well, because I've noticed that even on a 'good' day, the sweating awakens malodorrs that are trapped in the fabrics of my blouses, and no amoun of detergent, vinegar, bleach, borax, etc will get that out. so, with the pads, i can at least protect clothes, and i can talk to people without fear as much.
I can't wear the stonger antiperspirants or anything that inhibits sweating, because the body odor becomes intense (even skunkish), and no girl wants to stink! And where I block one place from sweating, it comes out with a vengence somewhere else. For instance, i tried Klima antiperspirant recently on my groin and underarms, it worked, but, my body temp rose because I had less sweat outlets, also my face and scalp sweated like I'd been running. Klima seems to be a great product if you are looking. You may not have the same reactions as me. So, I have to count my blessings and try to manage this as best I can.
Take care, God Bless!

Hi Serendipity
I agree, I don't think blocking / disabling your body's sweat glands is a smart move, although I can understand why some people want to do it.

Serendipity,
How do you manage bromhidrosis with diet? Also when you do block the sweating from your underarms and groin the smell is not as bad from other places right? Because there is less bacteria accumulated in these places so the smell should be less, is that correct? Thank You.

Hi Serendipity, Welcome. I remember you from the old site. I like the way you phrased this:-
I started wearing underarm pads which protect clothes. That's working well, because I've noticed that even on a 'good' day, "the sweating awakens malodors" that are trapped in the fabrics of my blouses.
I think our clothes often carry on the smell even after we have showered. I buy cheap tea shirts which I change frequently. Drinking cold drinks helps me to stay cool.
You are very right about antiperspirants and even surgery causing the sweating to come out from alternate sites. Some people seem surprised when I tell them the same but it's absolutely true! Arun
