Hi all, This could be seriously big news for at least some on here - www.ei-resource.org/community/groups/viewdiscussion/92-clinic-in-uk-now-doing-faecal-microbiota-transplantation-fmt?groupid=1Haven't followed this up yet so I'm afraid I can't add anything to it. Four grand is an awful lot of money (don't know does that include accomodation at the clinic or not). It would wipe out all my disposable income for a good long while. Don't get me wrong, if it works then I couldn't care less about the money, I might actually have a life instead of my meagre existence I inhabit now. But it would be dreadful to pay out all that money only to find it doesn't work. I'd be really interested to hear everyone's thoughts on this. If it's your gut bacteria which is the cause of your smell then really there should be an excellent chance it works I guess. But something that looks good in theory doesn't always work out so well in practice as we all know. Any opinions? ps If anyone knows the personal email of the member Jump4joy then I would appreciate it if they could contact her and let her know about this news. I only say that because she hasn't been on here for a while but she has written a lot on fts and I think she's British so this would be of huge interest for her.

wow Tintin. Great news. I've just e-mailed the Dutch microbiology professor Willem De Vos (as the Scottish doctor featured on that C4 programme did not reply to me) and he has replied straight away. Then I saw your post. Will definitely follow it up. thanks

Hey Malory, I see you've been getting the word out which is great, thanks a million. It would be extremely interesting to see what the clinic's response will be if a few tmau (ish) sufferers approach them. Hope this is as good as it sounds, I'm sure he won't mind me saying this but i know a guy who emailed them around two days ago and still hasn't gotten a reply which isn't such a good sign.

UK clinic now offering this bacteriotherapy via enema. i have asked about its effectiveness in contrast to the bacteriotherapy administered via nasogastric tube. £4000 is indeed beyond our budget but, if you would like a brochure, it is very detailed and informative. well worth looking at. Also, Glenn (Taymount rep) was very receptive to learning about odour disorders and interested in using this treatment to help us.
