Ok, I am sorry for not being on this site for long but my younger brother now has developed tmau signs, he just turned 22, the same age I was when I started developing the bad odor. He just started noticing it for 3 weeks now, he thought he just had a "normal" body odor but he tried everything in the book to get raid of it, he also noticed that people touched their nose, sniffed, sneezed when they were around him as well, he is exhibiting all the signs of tmau.
I am really upset about it. I struggled with mine for years before I could finally keep it under control. And now my brother "supposely" has it? It seems like it is truely something that is heriditary. Get your family members tested as well. And create an awareness...

OMG I am SO sorry. I was just thinking about your success story the other day. This is very sad news. But you managed to overcome yours so let's hope you can help your brother too. The pain of seeing a loved one suffering like we do is truly unbearable but you will have to be strong and give him the support he needs. Best of luck to you both.

I'm sorry to hear this MissFizi. My body odour isn't TMAU its caused by excessive sweating and the chemical make-up of my body. My brother also has BO issues. I know this because many people have complained that me and my brother smell exactly the same.
Its definitely genetic with us but strangely my parents don't seem to have any body odour issues. Just me and my brother.

Miss Fizzi, I'm also sorry to hear. Hopefully your brother will respond as well as you do to the protocol.
N22Alpha, Sorry about your BO problem. You talk about your "chemical makeup." Have you been reading the boards about the effects of hormones and people trying to balance their hormones? Some folks feel that might help. I wonder if that would help for you and your brother. Some folks are going to try the Zone diet, which I think is supposed to help balance your hormones. I would like to be brave enough to try it for TMAU but I'm nervous with all the meat or protein...
