Those past months have been the toughest of my whole life and i often had suicidal thoughts. Does anyone have some advice to give me in order that i could overcome a little easier the toughest periods of my life as a BO sufferer?

Most of us have been through such times. For me, such thoughts happened in my early twenties but, thank god, I didn't do anything drastic. I am 50 now and can say that although there have been unhappy times, there have also been many happy ones.
My advice is to try to meet other sufferers. I surround myself with sufferers and this gives me strength because I can see I am not alone.
Also, if you are searching for a partner, I found that it is best to date people you work with or meet a lot over time since, with time, they often get to like you, even though initial meetings can be strained.
Dating complete strangers should be avoided as it is often fruitless and damages confidence.

Yes I have some advice. Not only should you find a method that can control your odor, you also need to find a hobby or something that you enjoy and do it everyday. This will take the stress off the situation that your in and make you feel a lot better , thus preventing you becoming suicidal. Do some things that are known to reduce stress like exercising, drawing, or something that makes you laugh. It will make your life feel a lot better in the end

Probably most of us have entertained the idea at one time or another, some more than others. But I too am glad I never went through with it, because like Arun said, although there are bad times there are also good times. And we are getting closer to finding answers. When I first started having problems more than 20 years ago, this disorder was unheard of and I had no answers and no support. So hang in there and remember you are not alone.

Hopefully from the bad times we should learn humility and appreciation... not become bitter and twisted. I should be pretty humble by now!

Don't even think about it guys, not worth it.
Even though our lives are not going too well, you should learn to control it, and not let it control you.

Hi stinkyfrenchie,
Sorry to hear that you are feeling so down right now. Perhaps you can look at this as just being your most down time in your life, and that things will get better.
There are many new possibilities in the horizon with new research/testing options in the UK, other European countries, and the US, not only for TMAU but also looking into other FMO3 types of possible body odor (metabolic) conditions. These projects are in the works as we speak, and even though it will take a few months to come to fruition, there is hope that something more than just TMAU could be looked for scientifically. Perhaps our community will be shifting its primary attention in the near future from a "TMAU" body odor condition focus to multiple possibilities of "FMO3" body odor conditionS (plural) focus - this is the goal. Who is to say that even people diagnosed positive for TMAU don't have other types of metabolic enzyme deficiencies, or that instead of TMAU, sufferers have other metabolic enzyme deficiencies. This is the research we are working on developing right now with multiple scientists throughout the world. The actual research design is being discussed at this time, so please don't give up.
Wouldn't it be ironic if after you take destructive action against yourself, this research testing comes to fruition shortly thereafter??? It's very difficult to treat a condition without first identifying it, and that's what this research hopes to achieve. Once identified, that's more than 75% of the possibility for a cure right there, if not a higher percentage.
Meanwhile as we wait, we have each other for support. That's the beauty of our community. We are not alone. So hang in there; things have a way of working out.
