Hi Arun,
You may or may not remember from me the old forum, but regardless, just wanted to say thanks for everything you've done.
As for my test results;
Test was done in the morning, after breakfast (No prior choline load).
TMA 10.5 (normal range 2.5 - 10.9) TMA-n=Oxide 146 (normal range 17.0 - 147.0) TMA/TMA-n-Oxide 0.07 (normal range 0.05 - 0.21 )
Normal results exclude Trimethylaminuria.

My pleasure Alfie, how is life going? What are you doing these days dude?
Yes I remember you, you're 25? Suffered from FBO and BB since you were about 11/12 and you live in UK. Hey dude, how come you've never come to one of our meetups? They're a lot of fun, honest!
So anyway, here's my interpretation of your TMAU test results from last year. Well your results were:-
TMA 10.5 (normal range 2.5 - 10.9) TMA-n=Oxide 146 (normal range 17.0 - 147.0) TMA/TMA-n-Oxide 0.07 (normal range 0.05 - 0.21 )
A low TMA/TMA-n-Oxide ratio indicates excellent oxidation. This showed that you had perfectly normal FM03 activity in your liver and this is further evidenced by your TMA-n=Oxide level which is on the upper side of normal (good).
Your TMA reading of 10.5 is the only thing I would say that might suggest TMA production at the upper end of normal, especially as you did not have a proper choline load. However, you probably ate bacon and eggs for breakfast before hand?
The TMA range quoted (normal range 2.5 - 10.9) refers to the average population who have eaten normally but have not had a choline load.
You certainly don't have primary TMAU, secondary tmau is possible but not strongly indicated.
In conclusion, I think it may be worth trying a low choline diet for 2 months to see if it helps. Also, when you are next prescribed antibiotics for a cold (or any other reason) see if it makes any difference (there are likely to be hitherto unresearched intestinal dysbiosis conditions that may may contribute to odour). Arun

I'm ok, just getting my second wind for trying to deal with this 'issue' !! I have read about your meetups and they do sound fun, but at the moment, its a step too much.
A-ha. I misinterpreted the TMA-n=Oxide level. I thought the higher the score then the better the indication of possible TMAU(as did my doctor!). As for breakfast, it was actually weetabix and semi skimmed milk, so not too bad as far as choline is concerned.
Well, i may yet try the low choline diet. But as much as I would want to have Secondary TMAU and thus have a chance at beating it, I dont think it is.
Thank you again Arun.
