Others Stink Too
Crass title but for my last post of the day, I really want to say that other people stink too. When I worked as a waitress, I saw hundreds of people over the course of four years. More people than we realize have some sort of bo problem. Now, it may not be a regular problem, but I smelled a lot of people who had an odd odor (not just, it's a club and I've been sweating or drinking all night, odor). I mean either an odor that traveled far away from them, or a woman's perfume that had turned into something else, or just a horrid odor.
And for sure, on 9 occasions, I've witnessed my own friends having an issue. Twice, it was a co-worker who once confided in me once that a blind date told her she needed to shower more. I've seen her break into an unexplainable sweat and once, when we were in a club, a smell started coming out of her that was truly rank. People even moved away from her while she stood perfectly still. We worked at the same job and I'm thinking that maybe she was affected by the toxins there, as I was. The thing is that she seems to relish my own issue without thinking of her own stinkiness - - odd... maybe denial or maybe it happens very infrequently.
Another friend, who is very close, stank so bad I had to open the window. It was the same thing I experienced! A deep, rank metallic dragon internal breeze. I could see she was embarrassed. Another time, after a long day, she was so funky that I had to sit upwind of her. She's another one who refuses to discuss it even though I freely share with her about my own issues. More denial.
I have another friend who sweats constantly and smells like cheese. Just a few weeks ago, i spent time with another friend who had a "heavy" body smell. Not yet bad, but very prominent.
So my point is that there are MANY people who are struggling, not just us. They may not be suffering continuously, but, at least for me, it's a bit comforting because it increases sensitivity, even if they are in denial.
The fact is that the free flow of synthetic hormones and other toxins are causing all kinds of problems from breast cancer & prostate cancer to other manifestations of hormonal imbalance and toxicity. We live in a toxic world and we are not alone.

I agree. Actually, something that gives me odd comfort is that my boyfriend/partner has foul odor sometimes, too, when he eats certain things. I've had to ask him to NOT eat a strong curry right before bed because he will smell like 10 curries cooking in the middle of the night.
I think the fact that we have lived in the same place for 6 years and our place isn't well ventilated with mold growing on the walls has something to do with us. But he's a super confident guy and a well loved supervisor at his job, so he could go down the street smelling like a sewer and he wouldn't care. Haha!
But I think you are right. It's definitely more than just "us" that have odor issues - and it's a difficult one for people to talk about and admit.

You really need to sort out that mold in your room? Really, growing on the walls? That isn't healthy and has been linked on numerous occasions with causing bo... no one you have a problem. Most people have a bit of mold maybe on their windows due to condensation at different temperatures, but it is not normal to live and sleep in a room with mold on the walls!!

Hahahaha! Tell me about it rr30! Oh yes, I know. Believe me. We keep the walls mold free with Exit Mould, but just because you can't see it on the wall doesn't mean the spores aren't still in the air. So, yes, I'm certain it's a large percentage of my b.o. issue - and why my man stinks occasionally, too. The catch 22 is we can't get out of here cuz I can't work due to this odor. Intermittent fasting, strict dieting and probiotics/supplements ARE helping me, though. So I believe I'll be able to handle something part time soon which will mean an exit from here. We've already discussed it.
Cheers, mate!

I agree I think we're definitely the tip of the iceberg.
Probably lots of people stink and don't know, stink and don't care, stink and just live with it. It would be interesting to know how many of us there really are.

As Asians have lesser active sweat glands than Caucasians, in my country, I think bad breathe is more apparent than BO, where it is rare.
Funky after-work sweat smells yes, but not the cough/nose-rubbing type.
I remember I approached a salesman once and the moment he opened his mouth I nearly fainted, it smelled like something was decomposing in his mouth.
The people sited beside him didn't seem to even notice, except for maybe a few eye blinks, they continued doing whatever they were doing.
It is much more tolerated than BO, and to tell you the truth, I'm willing to trade my BO for bad breath anytime.
