I had bromhidrosis since I was young and everyday was a battle for me. Having hyperhidrosis didn't help either. I thought it was the sweat under my arms that's making the smell but I started using some good antiperspirant and even when completely dy I still smell. I didn't know what to do, I had low self-esteem, everytime a guy would approach me, I'd keep my distance hoping they won;t smell me. I couldn't smell myself, I could only tell by the people's reaction when they get close to me, they'd rub their noses. It started getting worse when I was preganant and after, hormone changes or something got to do with it. I was hopless so I did a lot of research but no doctor in the US would do this procedure that I wanted, APOCRINE REMOVAL. I found one doctor online but he's in china, I contacted the doctor and yes! I went to china, it was going to be cheaper and had more good chances than having some unsure thing done here. I had somebody come with me, to take care of me after surgery. China was nice but it was a public hospital so it wasn;t good for me to expect anything fancy looking hospital but it wasn;t bad at all. The surgery room was updated and really nice. it was just very busy and too many people in the hospital. Very few spoke english but we were lucky enough that the doctor understands english. The procedure was minor, but I was not to move my arms for 3-4 days then a lil movement after that. I did the procedure almost 2 mos ago and I still have a little bit of scar. I had help changing me and feeding me after the surgery. I remember complaining of not moving but i reminded myself that i had to sacrifice at least that if i really wnated the smell to go away.. Now when im around people, i sometimes intend to get so close to them just to see their reaction ;D and they don;t rub their noses anymore! It is the most effective procedure but the hardest one I think in terms of recovery but the good thing is it worked for me and I don;t have to put on deodorant, only if i want to. No more hyperhidrosis either and very few hairs! The hairs are almost not growing. So i am very happy with the procedure, and I promised to share my experience when I find the cure.
