im pretty sure most of my odor is from my underarms. i have excessive underarm sweating (although i think it has been reduced since i started taking anxiety medication, etc) i've tried dozens and millions of products. this is what works best for me so far:
Deodorant:
*First I apply witch hazel (generic target brand) with a cotton ball, 90% of days.
*Almay Hypoallergenic unscented gel deodorant (takes a couple minutes extra to dry)
*Mitchum Unscented Deodorant
Stay away from:
everything else? Scented deodorants is a huge no for me! i've tried 20+ deodorants in the past year, no joke.
Body Washes:
*St. Ives Sea Salt Exfoliating Scrub
*Tone Fruit Peel Body Wash
*The Body Shop gel body washes
*Using exfoliating scrubs is good!
(and really looking to try neutrogena w/ salicylic acid body wash)
Stay away from
*moisturizing body washes, like Dove. leave a coating on my skin for bacteria to thrive in
Shaving lotion:
*unrefined organic pure coconut oil is the best really.
Body Lotion:
*I seem to be able to use a lot of body lotions, but best is Pure Seduction Body Butter (or lotion) by Victoria's Secret. got positive "you smell goods" after applying it more than once!
Stay away from:
Only thing I didn't really like was coconut body oil from the body shop
Perfume:
*Don't. wear. EVER.
Laundry:
*Woolite Everyday Detergent
*I also put a little bit of vinegar in the rinse cycle. this really helps and sanitizes and neutralizes any odor left in clothing
*it's also nice to line dry clothing when possible. the sun kills any bacteria/odor, it's environmental friendly and good for your clothes
Shampoo/Conditioner:
*Bed Head Tigi Damage Level 2
*Or Shea Moisture Products
*It's a 10 leave in miracle product
along with this stuff, changing my diet & exercise, taking anxiety medication, i think my condition has improved.
changes in my diet I made:
*no coffee (decaf sometimes) tea sometimes
*eat white meat as little as possible (probably 2x per week at most)
*no red meat
*get in more magnesium (pumkin seeds, powerade zero)
*no/minimum amounts of processed/junk food!
*probiotics (yogurt, kombucha, kefir, froyo if i want something sweet)
*cut back on sugar
*take vitamins daily
*taking citalopram (anxiety medication) for the past 2 months so far
*exercise every other day... to work up a sweat, get out toxins. and walk as much as possible
*try to be calm all the time & not paranoid
* being positive
