Hi. I have a body odor problem, and i hate it! The smell is coming from my armpits when i think about it, or get nervous. It started 2 years ago when i started sweating really much at school. And it just got worse with the time. I couldn't stop thinking about it. But the smell wasn't really that bad then.. Now i have Social Anxiety too because of the smell, and i just cant stop thinking about it. Wherever i go, people hold their noses and look disgusted. The smell is ruining my life! It gets in my clothes, and i don't wanna buy new one because they will just smell too then! And when my families clothes gets washed, the smell gets in their clothes too .The smell is really bad, and people can smell it far away from me.. I hate my life now because i'm just sitting at home, and i never go out anymore.. But the problem is just in my head, because when i am at home and don't think about it, i don't smell bad (except from my clothes). But when i go out, meet people, or just think about it, i start sweating in my armpits and the horrible smell is coming. (Its not regular sweat smell). I believe if i stop the smell from coming out somehow, i can buy new clothes and stop smelling bad. But i don't know how to stop it, and i would be really happy if someone could help me! If i don't solve this problem i don't know what i'm gonna do anymore . Sorry if my english is bad.

Try baking soda for your armpit. That won't solve it permanently but at least you won't really smell 100%. I use Arm&Hammer, but maybe any brand will do.

Hi Steff
Some people do smell during teenage years when you have a lot hormones flying around. I'd just suggest to look after your health well through diet and exercise, maybe you can look at meditation to help you stay relaxed (if you have the patience), maybe you can freshen up with baby wipes when you're out?

Like you, my armpits started to perspire like crazy when puberty hit. Then came the smell, it overwhelmed any soap/deodorant that I used. I'm currently using anti-perspirant but it stops a little of the sweating but not the smell. I hate being around people so my social life has been ruined. I'm currently struggling to find a job, and have absolutely 0 people to turn to.

dude i know exactly how you feel. Even if i sweat at home or go for vigorous exercise i wont smell a thing. But once i head out to a more crowded environment, that place could be blasted with air condition, my underarm will start sweating, and it will stink. I'm at a loss. Before this entire turmoil started, i still frequent clubs and get compliments that my perfume is nice and all. Now it is ruining my social life. I need help too...

Have you talked to your Dr about this? My dermatologist prescribed antibiotic lotion. You might try antibacterial wipes?
I guess I should ask what you have already tried. ;D

Hey, so body odor is caused by bacteria. Some things I've tried are: drink chlorophyll in water (15 ml/cup of water) because it is an internal deodorant. Use the lavalin deoderant (herbal stuff) on clean armpits, it goes on as a paste and can keep odors away from anywhere from a day to a few months depending on your body chemistry. Watch what you eat. Some foods are what are known as thermogenic and increase your body temperature making you sweat more. coffee is a stimulant too and increases the acidity in your body as well as can make you sweat more. You should consult an alternative health care practitioner like a naturopath or a holitic nutritionist to see if you have an allergy to something causing the odor or extra perspiration. Maybe you need to do a body detoxification.. seems like lots of toxins have built up inside you and are trying to get out. Try to clean anything that has come in contact with the bacteria from sweat as clean as possible and wash regularly.

I have this problem too, although it sounds like you have it worse than I do. I start getting smelly when I sweat a lot or eat certain foods (sugar is definitely the number one culprit). Baking soda (mixed with corn starch), just like joliepitt mentioned, is something I have successfully used. Unflavored milk of magnesia is another. Neither one of these remedies can be used forever, though, as your body will become accustomed to them after a couple of uses. Think of these solely as quick fixes. I would love to try chlorophyll. I would also like to increase my magnesium intake and try having more of a raw vegan diet.

Hi Steff! Same thing happened with me! I posted in the Success Stories already. I'll copy and paste below. This is what worked for me, hope you find something that works for you: I can't believe how long it took me to find a solution. I'm a twenty something petite girl. I've always eaten pretty healthy and been athletic, but ever since I hit puberty I've always had smelly armpits. It didn't matter what kind of deodorant or antiperspirant I used, or how active I was that day, I would always eventually get BO. It was super embarrassing and I didn't know what to do about it. I showered every morning and every time I exercised, but I would find myself going into the bathroom during the day to wipe down my armpits with soap and water because I'd notice about mid day that my deodorant was starting to smell funky. I eventually got so fed up that I started scouring the internet for solutions. Thats when I found out that its actually bacteria that causes the smell (I always thought that it was sweat that smelled!) and antiperspirants don't actually do anything about the bacteria. So I started to look into ways to kill the bacteria and found that there are several herbs and plants that have natural antibacterial properties. One that seemed to get a lot of attention was tea tree oil. I had heard about it before, my brother used an antidandruff shampoo that had tea tree oil in it so I started washing my armpits with that in the morning. It didn't seem to help. So I searched for deodorants that used it and found several different options. I tried one out and to my amazement it actually worked!! No armpit odor all day! I switched to a new brand because while the first one I tried worked it was gritty and kind of irritating. The one I'm using now is called Nina Beana (ninabeana.com) and it works just as well and I absolutely love the smell of it! A bit more expensive than deodorants I've bought in the past (I think it's around $8), but its totally worth it to not smell anymore! So there it is tea tree oil... its magic! What you are describing sounds like stress sweat which is different from normal sweat, it's a strong odor that regular deodorant doesn't help. I recommend you speak to you're doctor. I've found help with stress sweat by using wipes when I'm out & after I get out of the shower I would apply a homemade deodorant
Mix:1 tablespoon of baking soda with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
