Here’s the answer ladies. I recently had this issue for the second time in about 6 months. The first time it lasted for weeks with no relief. However the second time this happened to me I completely healed my armpits in 1 day. No joke. Here is my solution. I wet my armpits with warm water then I rubbed Purely Northwest Antifugal foot and body wash with tea tree oil under my arm pits. Leave on for 5 mins. Then I washed with Schmidt’s cedar and juniper natural soap. Leave on for 5 mins. I then dried my under arms and used Schmidt’s Natural deodorant scent was Earth and Wood (the best deodorant hands down) I promise it will take the funk away. Ladies no joke the smell was instantly gone. I did this process again the next day to make sure it would not return. The second day I also sprayed Tru Skin Daily Facial Super Toner under my armpits as it is part of my daily routine. Which one of these product rid my underarms of the onion smell I don’t know. But I smell so good. It’s amazing! Read more: breathandbodyodour.proboards.com/thread/133/armpits-smell-onions?page=8#ixzz4z26c8jx9

Once my antiperspirant wears off, the onion smell does comes back and it's disgusting With my antiperspirant the smell changes to a metallic odor that makes people cough This condition is so annoying and does anyone have similar experience?[/quote]

I have onion pits too. Thought is cracked it when I came off the pill after 3 years of onion pits ruining my confidence. 6 weeks later the smell was back and worse. Every day since four days before my period. Been using Donna Karen deodrant and thought that and no pill was the answer...sadly no..neither is. I, like you all, am devestated. Nothing stops this foul stench. I shower every day and I use deodrant often...and then from out of nowhere I stink Does everyobe else have to throw their clothes away.

Has anybody had strong chronic onion smelling pits and actually gotten rid of the odor?! I fear it is permanent.

I've been having a stomach problems with very uncomfortable symptoms like An ache or burning pain in your abdominal, Nausea constant burping,Loss of appetite, Abdominal pain that's worse when your stomach is empty, Unintentional weight loss Gas, fatigue, waking up almost daily around 3.00 AM sweating and burping, and I started having onion underarms smell,I wipe my underarms with apple cider vinegar then I take a shower at night and I wake up the next morning with the onion smell,I clean it with apple cider vinegar again and spray deodorant it helps alot. I have a very sensitive stomach I used lots of Nexium before meas It did help for bloating but was not enough, I went to 3 different doctors they made do so many tests from blood tests also EKG or electrocardiogram test, troponin tests, a stress test, an abdominal ultra sound all results were good, They told me that I'm stressed, they put me on cepralex its the same family like Prozac and Zoloft I took it for six month nothing changed I stopped taking it. I started doing Internet research about stomach bacteria that cause the symptoms I'm having I came up with the Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection.I went and had the test done and I was hoping that it will come up positive and it did honestly I was happy because I found out what is the problem was. I started taking Nexium 40 In the morning before meal then one pill of Klacid 500 (clarithomycin) and one pill Ospamox 1000 (Amoxicillin) after meals and the same at dinner time for 2 weeks, from the second day the onion smell was gone, and at the time I was taking the medication I stopped drinking alcohol. I was fine for about 4 or 5 months then I started having similar symptoms again and the onion smell came back,I went and had the H pylori test done again and It was positive. I went to Gastro-Enterology doctor and told him my story he did scope test ( upper endoscopy exam ) there was a redness at the bottom of my stomach due to the bacteria,so he prescribed me the same medication plus one more called Flagyl 500 (metronidazole) for 2 weeks again, and also stop smoking, stopdrinking, no hot peppers, spices, coffee, sodas, tea, sweets, fatty food, and fried and oily food and exercise atleast !/2 hour a day and must do that for 6 months, I'm in my second week now and feel much better and the onion smell is gone again and I hope for good and good luck to ya all.

Sometimes spraying a light coating of hydrogen peroxide under your arms and then wiping it off and applying a second coat works for me. This has been an episodic problem for me. Clearly something triggers it. But putting toxic chemicals under my arm to stop it is out of the question. Our bodies absorb through our skin so toxins go directly into your body. Be cautions. Fixing one problem while causing another problem is not helpful.

This may seem ridiculous to most of you, but I have had this problem (armpits smell like onions - even after scrubbing, exfoliating, deodorant) on and off for the last few years. I started to notice a trend - each time I have that smell, I also have symptoms of a urinary tract infection. I went to my OB GYN in December and told him I have the smell of onions and although I wasn't experiencing strong normal symptoms of a UTI I felt as though the 2 are related. He did a urine test and it was positive for a UTI. After several days of the antibiotic, drinking tons of water - smell goes away. He told me that I was not crazy - that he's often had women tell him of this smell and tested positive for a UTI. I believe it's directly related to bacteria - stomach or otherwise - hope this helps.

I am having the same issue with the onion pits. I can also say, my diet has been horrible. Cannot tell you the last time I had greens. I do remember back in college, a professor talking about chlorophyll in your diet will help with body odor. I also saw a post on here about chlorophyll pills. I guess it is kind of true when they say "garbage in, garbage out" on your body.

Bacterial live in the hair follicles. Shaving or better--epilating or waxing could really help remove the problem. Could also try using a spray antiseptic and antibiotic cream (not ointment, too much fat). Supplementing with chlorophyll and zinc could work. Try zinc powder on pits. Foods to avoid onion and garlic; sugars and carbs; meat and dairy. Try a detox kit or try it in your armpit - make a paste of bentonite clay and water, leave on on pits till dry). Could try dusting dry clay on pits as well. Alcohol, Lemon, baking soda, vinegar are worth trying if it is a PH problem. Good luck.

Sometimes I get that onion smell coming from my underarms also. Not sure why yet. Going to start a food journal and keep track of what I eat, how I feel and smell . Anyways one stinky pit day lol , I got this idea and took some baking soda in the shower with me, got my pits wet then put some baking soda in my hands and cleaned my underarms then finished shower, got out of shower and when finished drying I step back into shower and pat some baking soda under my arms. Wow this works great and I stay smelling fresh all day and longer, Makes me wish I had a powder puff and container. It don't cost much and it does not have harmful ingredients. Also my friend called me one day, she was upset she forgot to pick up deodorant and I asked her if she had some baking soda and told her what to do. The next time she called me she let me know that she tried it and loves it.
